Terms of Service

By using Arcscan you accept these terms. If you do not accept them, do not use the site. There is nothing to sign and no account to create — use is acceptance, and stopping is the only opt-out that is needed.

We may change these terms. The date at the top of this page is the date of the current text; carrying on after a change is acceptance of the new text. Nothing here is retroactive.

Arcscan is an independent block explorer for the Arc blockchain. It reads data from a public, permissionless ledger and presents it as web pages. It also has a REST API, which is documented but not yet open to callers outside this site; when it opens, these terms cover it too. That is the entire service.

In particular, Arcscan does not:

• hold, custody, transmit or exchange any asset;
• operate, validate, sequence or govern the Arc network;
• connect to your wallet, request a signature, or ask for a private key or seed phrase — no page on this site will ever do any of those things;
• broker, advise on or facilitate any transaction between you and anyone else.

This release has no user accounts, no login, no subscription and no paid tier. You cannot create an account, so there are no credentials to safeguard and nothing to suspend. If accounts are introduced later, the terms governing them will be added here before the feature ships, not after.

The site is free to use, including commercially, and is rate limited per IP address so that one client cannot deny the service to everyone else. The same will be true of the API when it opens. You agree not to:

• circumvent, distribute across addresses, or otherwise attempt to defeat the rate limit;
• use the service in a way that materially degrades it for others, including scraping at a volume no ordinary reader could produce;
• represent Arcscan data as official, authoritative, or as issued by the Arc network or by Circle;
• use the site to facilitate anything unlawful.

Automated access is welcome, and the API is being built so that it does not have to go through the HTML — it is documented but not yet open to outside callers. Identify your client honestly in the user-agent; it is the difference between being throttled and being blocked.

We run this service as well as we can, with no uptime guarantee and no service level agreement. It can be slow, incomplete, behind the chain head or offline, with or without notice. The network status page shows the current head lag and component health.

Data derived from our index — address history, transfer lists, leaderboards — may lag the chain. Where a page is served from the index, it says so and reports how far behind it is. Treat any figure without that annotation as read directly from a node at the moment of the request.

The service is provided “as is” and “as available”, without warranty of any kind, express or implied, including any warranty of accuracy, completeness, merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose or non-infringement.

Blockchain data is presented as decoded and formatted by software that can contain defects. Contract names, token symbols, decimal scales and event signatures are chosen by whoever deployed the contract and are not verified by us; two tokens can share a symbol and use different decimal scales. Always confirm anything financial against the chain itself, or against an independent source, before acting on it.

Nothing on Arcscan is financial, investment, legal, tax or accounting advice, a recommendation, or an offer or solicitation to buy or sell anything. Labels, tags and categorisations shown on the site are descriptive aids derived from chain data, not endorsements or warnings about any address, token or contract.

A token appearing on this site is not a statement that it is legitimate, safe or worth anything. Anyone can deploy a contract that names itself after something reputable.

To the fullest extent the law allows, we are not liable for any indirect, incidental, special, consequential or exemplary damages, or for any loss of profits, revenue, data or digital assets, arising from your use of — or inability to use — the service, even if we were warned it could happen.

Because the service is free and holds nothing of yours, our total liability to you is limited to what you have paid to use it, which is zero. Nothing in these terms excludes liability that cannot lawfully be excluded.

Contract source, token metadata, and any address or contract description shown on this site originates with third parties. Arcscan does not endorse it and is not responsible for it. External links are provided for convenience and are not an endorsement of the destination.

Blockchain data is public and is not owned by anyone. The Arcscan name, logo and site design are ours; use of the mark is governed by the brand assets page, which grants a specific, limited permission for referring to the site.

What is logged, why, and what cannot be deleted is set out in the privacy policy, which forms part of these terms. The short version: server logs for abuse prevention, a theme preference in your own browser, and no accounts to profile.

With no accounts there is nothing to terminate. We may block or throttle traffic that degrades the service for other readers, and we may withdraw the service entirely at any time.
